I got up early in Noirmontier and spent a little time on the beach. On the way out I took time for a cafe and to visit the tourist office. I got a great tip – take “le gois”; the road that is only available at low tide. I had 2 hours to make it to le gois before high tide, so I high-tailed it out of there.
The ride north on the Eurovelo 1 was beautiful as it meandered along the coast.
When I arrived in Pornic I decided this is the town where I’m going to stay. I found a functional campground only a 3 minute walk from the center of town. After exploring the town, I found a nice spot for a picnic and open a bottle of 2009 Bordeaux.
